The resources on this page have been developed by the SSG specifically for MPhil/PhD students engaged in Screen Studies research.

The first PDF document contains information about a range of resources that are available in the UK and abroad to postgraduate students in Screen Studies. This includes information about how to use and access libraries and film and television archives, and it provides details about a number of useful web resources.

The second PDF file is a collection of essays on methodologies and research practices. In particular it offers methodological insights into areas of Screen Studies research such as textual analysis, and other essays offer practical research tips and advice on the research process and having your work published.

These resources were developed following two PhD training events co-ordinated by the Screen Studies Group from across a number of departments and institutions in the University of London, and you can find links to these colleges elsewhere on this website. The training events were organised by the Department of Media Arts at Royal Holloway, and held in October 2005 and June 2006 at Birkbeck College. The events were made possible by a grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
